How much does a charity website cost?

There isn't one standard price for a charity website. The cost depends on who builds it, how much work is involved and what your website needs to do.

DIY can be the lowest-cost option. Platforms such as Wix, Squarespace and WordPress allow you to build a website yourself, but you'll need to invest your own time in planning, content, design and building it.

A freelancer may charge anywhere from hundreds to several thousand pounds, depending on their experience and the complexity of the project. A small studio will typically cost more, but may offer a broader range of expertise. An agency can provide a larger team and more complex functionality, but costs can rise significantly.

The final price isn't just about the build. Consider the cost of your website platform and hosting, as well as content writing, photography, branding, design, accessibility, integrations and functionality such as forms, events, donations or directories.

Don't forget ongoing costs either. Domains, platform subscriptions, maintenance, support and future improvements all need to be considered.
